Week Four
Day 22, June 19: Today is our last day of class. We discussed glocalization and how McDonald's is everywhere. As part of the lecture, we were able to have lunch at McDonald's to compare and contrast our US v Italian experiences. Lastly, we had our Farewell Dinner at La Cucina del Ghianda with Lorenzo.
Day 23, June 20: Move out day is here! I caught a 9am train to Rome and had the day to explore. My battery is depleted, but I had booked a tour of the Vatican so I scurried to that, then went to the hotel to rest my feet and take a quick nap. Once semi-rejuvenated, I walked to the remaining sites I wanted to see. I cut a lot a few attractions, but still had the chance to see the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. I rented an e-scooter on the way back and it was AMAZING. The e-scooter around Rome was the highlight of my trip.
Day 24, June 21: Long travel day. I cannot wait to be home. <3
This concludes my trip to Italy! Thank you all for following along with my journey these past few weeks. This was an incredible experience, and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to participate. I know I’ve talked about doing this for YEARS now and never truly believed it would happen. Thanks for listening, for believing, and most importantly, thank you all for supporting me. This experience showed me what an incredible group of friends and family I have.
Until next time…
